Collezione: Pure Evil
Pure Evil (born Charles Uzzell Edwards in 1968) is a British graffiti artist hailing from Wales, renowned for his distinct style and impactful contributions to the street art scene. The son of painter John Uzzell Edwards, Pure Evil cultivated his artistic sensibility early on. He studied fashion and graphics in London before relocating to California, where he immersed himself in the vibrant street art culture of the 1990s. Influenced by iconic West Coast artists like Twist and Reminisce, he found inspiration in their innovative approaches to urban art.
After a decade in California, Pure Evil returned to London, where he quickly made a name for himself. He participated in Banksy’s groundbreaking pop-up gallery initiative, “Santa’s Ghetto,” which further propelled his artistic career. It was during this time that he developed his signature imagery of mischievous, fanged bunnies, which has since become emblematic of his work.
Today, Pure Evil is celebrated for his diverse artistic output, which includes striking portraits of cultural figures often depicted with dark, dripping paint beneath their eyes. His unique blend of humor and social commentary resonates with audiences worldwide. His works have been featured in numerous exhibitions at prestigious venues such as the Saatchi Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, as well as the Culture Gallery in Cape Town, South Africa, and the Baker Gallery in Cologne.
With a growing international presence, Pure Evil continues to push the boundaries of street art, merging fine art techniques with urban themes, and leaving a lasting impression on the contemporary art landscape.
